Summer Holiday Must-Haves

So, Christmas is coming up!

Now, I haven't hung up any Christmas decorations yet even though I know some people already put up their Christmas trees in Autumn. The reason for that is because I am going to go to Melbourne for Christmas, then Thailand before school starts.

So, I decided to make a post about my holiday must-haves.
In Australia, we celebrate Christmas in Summer. So no warm fuzzy socks and snow, instead we have sandals, beaches and hats.
Here are my Christmas/Holiday Summer Must-Haves.

1. A Drink Bottle

No matter where you are, you always need to stay hydrated. Having your own water bottle is better than buying a plastic bottle both for you and the environment. Plastic water bottles can create BPA, leading to cancer. So, it is always important to carry your own water bottle.

2. Sunscreen

Sunscreen is so important for Summer because of the scorching sun. Having sun is good for you, but having too much can lead to skin cancer and sunburn, so applying sunscreen is very important for you. It is better if you have one that is water resistant, so you don't have to reapply every time you get out of the water.

3. Swimmers and Sleeved Rashie

The beach is a must for Summer, so obviously you need swimmers. But being out in the sun for long periods of time in only swimmers can be bad for your skin, leading to sunburn and skin cancer, so a must have is a rashie. These are sleeved shirts made out of a swimwear-like material to protect you from the sun a little bit more. These are good if you are going boogie-boarding or surfing (and other water sports.)

4. Sunglasses

Your skin is not the only thing that needs to be protected from the sun. Your eyes are also very sensitive, so wearing sunglasses are important if you don't want to get bad eyesight. Sunglasses aren't only useful, but can be fashionable. You can pick a shape and colour to match what you are wearing.

5. Lip Balm

You know the feeling of dry, flaking lips don't you? I don't like it very much either. So, lip balm is a must. Mine is Maybelline Baby Lips in Mango Pie. It is very nice and soothes your sore flaky lips. Lip balm is a definite must-have.

6. A Book

Whether your on holiday or your at home alone, you need to keep occupied, so I always carry a book around with me. I love reading, whether it is by the beach or on the bus. The book I am currently reading is Cherry Crush by Cathy Cassidy. I have actually read this multiple times before, but I really like this book.

7.  Headphones and Music

If you can't read in a car because of motion-sickness, I've got you covered. Music. You don't really need an excuse to listen to music, but maybe it  isn't the best to blast out Nicki Minaj out loud while on the bus, though. So, having headphones or earplugs are very useful.

So, those are my Summer Must-Haves.
You might not need all of those things as I know some boys in my class, all they need are their Xbox's, but these are mine.

Best Albums - November

As most of you know, there's one month till Christmas!!
Yay! :)

So, instead of doing a normal, bland Music List. I'm doing an Albums list instead.
I have a whole playlist on things I want to do based on Holidays and all that jazz.

Also, just wanted to mention that I am going to be in a Christmas Pageant and I will definitely post photos. :)

So, let's begin.

1. Chase Dreams - Kalin and Myles

This album is the epitome of perfection. They all have catchy pop tunes and Love Robbery is personally my favourite. I can rap it all! (Achievement Unlocked)
This album was released in 2014 and is great. I just love listening to this in the car or on road trips and stuff like that.

2. My Everything - Ariana Grande

This album is great, and I think every song is going to be released into a video. I'm not really sure which one is my favourite as they are all pretty good, but I do like 'Love Me Harder.'
The film clip for that one has been released and it is really cool with the sand in the background.

3. Meet The Vamps - The Vamps

Okay, this has probably got to be my FAVOURITE album of the year. It has all great different songs, each one with a different rhythm and catchy tune.
My favourite has got to be Last Night. It's really catchy and easy to sing along. (Added Bonus)
All the songs are also equally good and I love it so much.

So, these are all that I have listened to that I haven't mentioned before that I love.
So, If you have any suggestions, comment down below.

Bye!

DIY Notebook and Room Decor

Ok, so I decided to do something different!
DIY! :)

The things you will need for the notebook are:

Chalkboard stickers (or any labels), Paintbrush, Ruler, Scissors, Pencil, Chalk, PVA Glue, Fabric Paint/3D Paint (Optional) , Notebook, Patterned or Coloured Paper, Hairspray (optional)

Flip the cover of the notebook open to the first page and lay the piece of patterned paper face-down. I then trace the outline of the notebook lightly, keeping the lines straight with  ruler.

Cut along the traced line

Put the paper aside and out glue on the notebook and brush it down evenly with the paintbrush.

While the glue is still wet, lay the patterned paper down and put a stack of thick books on top.
If you do not have any thick novels, you can put it under a stack of plates, etc.

Stick the chalkboard sticker on the notebook (or label) and write your name with the chalk.

If you don't want the chalk to rub out, spray with hairspray or special artwork setting spray.
(Optional)

This is also optional, but if you want to, you can put little dots down with the fabric paint around the outside of the label.

All Done!
___________________________________________________________________

The things you will need for the room decor are:

Paintbrush, Tissue or Tissue paper, a canvas, 4 water colours in the same colour group, water in a glass/cup.

First, you will need to lay out the canvas with the piece of tissue lying on top of it. If there you can still see a part of the canvas, use more than one piece of tissue to cover it up.

Now start painting the deepest colour from your group of chosen colours and pat water on the paint to make it runnier.

Continue painting the colours, ombre-ing the colours by slightly overlapping them.
After you lay down a colour, pat with regularly with water to dampen the tissue.

If the tissue rips, lay another piece of tissue over it and repaint.

Let the tissue dry for 2-3 hours

Once it has dried, I sticky-taped the remaining edges to the other side of the canvas.

All Done!

I hope you enjoyed this really long post. I had fun doing this!

Music List (September)

Wow, I haven't written in a long time.
I can't believe that its actually October now, I mean seriously, this means it's nearly Christmas!!

So, new month means....
Can you guess it?

NEW MUSIC LIST
(September Edition)

It's weird, saying September Edition makes it sounds like I'm making a newspaper report or producing a nail polish set except with the colours for September. Maybe it's just me.

Anyhow, lets get into it.

1. Superheroes - The Script

So yes, The Script have made heaps of inspiring songs. Like Hall Of Fame, etc.
This one, I guess, is one of them. It's very catchy and starts of with a slow piano entry, going into a rock/pop. The lyrics definitely have the most power though, meaningful and catchy.

2. Live Louder - Nathaniel

Quiz time!! Did you know that Nathaniel is an Australian singer and songwriter? It became well-known because he played the song live on X Factor.
I actually had to dance to this song at my school's Sport's Day for the Health Hustle.
The dance moves consisted of star jumps, legs and arms stretches and grapevines.

3. Supermassive Black Hole - Muse

We've all heard of the Muse right? This song was composed by lead singer Matthew Bellamy and was released on July 3 2006. It was part of the album Black Holes and Revelations and was soon released into a single. This song was also played in the movie Twilight in the baseball scene where all the vampires gather together in the middle of a meadow during a thunderstorm to play baseball.

4. Too Close - Alex Clare

This song is sort of like, dubstep meets country pop. The main chorus definitely sounds like dubstep and it has great lyrics and synthesized rhythm. Alex is known for bass-heavy music in his album, The Lateness Of The Hour. This song was part of the album, but was re-released as a single a few months after.

5. The Fall Song - Bridgit Mendler

Originally a Disney TV Star, Bridgit Mendler propelled her career upwards and became a well known actress and a successful pop star. She played lead singer of the band in the movie Lemonade Mouth. This song was a part of the Hello My Name Is... album.
This song, unlike Alex Clare's Too Close, is a happy cheerful song. The chorus is really catchy.

6. Shake It Off - Taylor Swift

Yes! A new song from Taylor Swift. This one is catchy and truthfully honest. This song is a single to pre-promote her upcoming album 1989 being released on 27th October. The song has a trombone bass line and a catchy beat.
The film clip itself is something else. It's trying to say that, she doesn't care what people think of her, she doesn't care about what her reputation is and that she goes by her own standards.

So, I hope you enjoyed my music list for September!

Music List (August)

Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month!!
*Fist bumps air* YES!
I've been waiting to do this for a while, I've listen to heaps of new music so you guys better appreciate this. :)

So, lets see.....

1. Love Will Come My Way - Ryan Beatty

This song is a country/pop ballad song. It starts off with a slow guitar solo, then it changes into a rhythmic melody with what seems like a choir or layered voices. It is very simple, catchy and repetitive.
It has multiple verses, but still brings back to the main chorus.

2. Brave - Sara Bareilles

I have actually heard this song multiple times. Once at school for a concert, and even at the gym during sports. I know why. This song is catchy and very simple. It has great rhythm and a very important message, 'be brave.' It is a definite pop number, mixed with what I would assume as a country/rock, but very subtle.

3. Pass Me By - R5

Ok, so this is a new song that I have been recently loving. It starts with the story setting with just a simple guitar harmony. Then it joins in with the rock/pop. It's very simple and repetitive, having wonderful choruses with great rhymes. "I was solo, living yolo."
Then it repeats the same type of style as the beginning, after the chorus is the story scene, then back to the same chorus. It definitely gives you the feeling of a story or sequence.

4. Best Day Of My Life - American Authors

This song is very popular, and been used in multiple YouTube videos as well. It sounds like it has been made using everyday house-hold objects, keys, bells, etc. It is very cool and uses a variety of different rhythms.
It is a country/rock/pop. Very catchy and repetitive.

5. Please Don't Go - Mike Posner

This song is the second best song that Posner has made, 'Cooler Than Me' being first.
The video for this is also great. It has that video game/ arcade game feel to it, making it pop, just to the electronic side. It has a heavy bass synthesizer line. It always rounds back to the chorus and has an amazing part in it. It sounds like an actual live arcade game, the Game Over and the Level Up sound.
(I recommend also watching the video)

Lub VS Dub

Hello guys, long time, no talk.

WARNING:
This game is really cool and may give you a heart attack.

Anyway, I wanted to talk about a new game that just arrived in the App Store. It is actually in Top Charts.
It's called Lub VS Dub, representing the sound of a heart (lub-dub, lub-dub).

It is about two little figures that run down this straight line, being an electrocardiogram, but there are obstacles. Big spikes and electric currents. You have three controls over these characters, Jump, Flip and Power Up.

In this video game, you can't control the speed that the character is going at, but you can make it dodge the obstacles like jumping and flipping over. The aim of the game is to collect as many hearts as possible and not touch the obstacles. It does get faster, but it doesn't end at that. You can play in multiplayer, one person on one side of the screen, one on the other.

You can also jump up and get various Power Ups like, magnets etc. One of the characters is white with black eyes, while the other is black with white eyes, if you want to grab the hearts, you must grab the hearts which are the same as your character.

This game gets even trickier, it flips the electrocardiogram line so your eyes get cross-eyed and it gets faster making it harder and harder.

It has won a number of awards including the BAFTA New Talent Award.

Rating:

Graphics 8/10
Nice, but simple graphics

Creativity 10/10
Lots of creativity used for this

Performance 10/10
No glitches

Overall: 89%

Music Hits (July)

So you guys know it's August now! YAY!!!!!
Well, I have been meaning to make a post for a while, but I didn't know what to write about. :(
But then, I came up with a brilliant idea; A New Music List!

(I'm sorry, it's way past July now!)

So here's my first song: (I only have a few this month)

1. I'm Ready - AJR

I LOVE this song so much! It's a great song. Really catchy and repetitive, so it makes it easy to sing along to. I think the film clip is also great. You can check it out HERE

2. Somebody To You - The Vamps ft. Demi Lovato

This song is epic. It is a rock/pop ballad. It has great lyrics and great rhythm. It is very catchy and easy to sing along to. The video wasn't very entertaining, personally, but still good.

3. Don't Say Goodnight - Hot Chellae Rae

This song is also very catchy. It has an amazing tune. It starts with a slow opening, then changes to their signature pop rock style.

4. This Is How We Do - Katy Perry

This song was actually in her PRISM album, but I think it is going to b released into a single, like the cover above. This song is great, catchy and definitely a classic pop tune. The film clip is also good, like most of her film clips.

I have more, but they are mainly from last month's post, though.
So, you can go check it out if you want. *wink wink

Netball Road

So, today I took some time off school to go and play netball.
We were playing at Concordia College. It was massive, with a big, huge gymnasium and a green oval.
The gym that we played in was huge. It had multiple lines for different sports and a big scoreboard.

It was a great game, although we didn't win. We lost 31-12
It was by far the toughest and most skilled team we have versed, but overall it was still great.

I played WA in the first quarter, GK in the second quarter and C for the third quarter. You may be thinking, why did I played for only 3 quarters, even though the word quarter means 4. That's because I was out, or on the bench for the fourth quarter.

I'm sorry I couldn't take any photos, though!

Must Reads

So, recently I watched Divergent and to tell you in the most detailed words without rambling is, "it's the awesomest thing on Earth!"
Yeah, my reaction mainly consisted of me opening and closing mouth throughout the whole movie.
It's based on a book series by Veronica Roth. It is the first book in the series.
I've actually just purchased the series and it is great. Very detailed and full of action.

Another great movie has been The Fault In Our Stars. It's really sad and emotional and definitely plays with your emotions; one minute your laughing with tears coming out of your eyes, then the next thing you know, your tears of happiness change into tears of sadness and your biting your hand from sobbing.
I haven't actually seen the movie :( but I have read the book, and trust me, it makes you into an emotional wreck.

Another great book you should definitely read before the movie comes out is Fallen by Lauren Kate.
It is about a girl named Lucinda Price who falls in love with a fallen angel called Daniel Grigori. He fell from heaven because he wanted to be with his love, but a curse was rested upon him, and every time he tries to get close to her she bursts up in flames. But he knows that she is reborn again and they are destined to meet in another 18 years.
This book is part of a series, including Passion, Torment and Rapture.

I hope you like these book ideas!

Music

So I decided to make a part of my blog a music category, since I am obsessed with music and want other people to experience it with me.
I will update every month and make a My WishyT Music list.
Enjoy!

So this month I've been listening to different songs and below are a few I have chosen.

1. Bridgit Mendler - Hello My Name Is...

This whole album is great, it really catches my attention by the different rhythms and wonderful lyrics. It is great to listen to at night, during the day or even while your going to work.
You can get it HERE

2. Big Time Rush - Windows Down

This song is great and has awesome lyrics. It's more of a holiday and fun type of song with repetitive lyrics. The thing that screams for my attention in this is the key-change in the song. It is really catchy and makes you wanna sing along to it or just tap along to the rhythm.
You can get it HERE

3. Rude - Magic!

I really like this song. It has a different feel to it, more like reggae, but it still has great lyrics to match with the video. It is catchy with repetitive choruses with makes you want to sing along.
You can get it HERE

4. Amnesia - 5 Seconds Of Summer
This song is awesome. Slow meaningful lyrics and a catchy rhythm. It may be a sad song, but it really makes you get into it. There other songs are also good, but this one is their latest.
You can get it HERE

5. Boom Clap - Charli XCX

Have any of you seen the Fault In Our Stars? I haven't personally, but I know that this song is in it. This song has a nice, steady pop beat. You've probably heard of it in the supermarket or at the train station, this is because it's happy and lively beat is contagious and makes you want to dance and sing along.
You can get it HERE

6. Break Free - Ariana Grande

This song is more of a song you would dance to. It has that dubstep feel to it, but not too much of it. It has great lyrics and a bouncy rhythm. It is great to listen to if your studying, while your reading or even when your eating dinner.

I hope you have enjoyed my list of songs I have decided to be in my top list. Comment below on what are your favourite songs for the holidays! :)
