Paper Towns by John Green

A few days ago, my friends and I went to go see Paper Towns. I have got the book, but haven’t finished it yet. And personally, I think that the book is much better (most of the time books are) that even Cara Delevingne’s eyebrows didn’t even make much of an impression on me.                               But, I know what did.

Ansel Elgort
.

He is one of the main characters from John Green’s The Fault In Our Stars and is portrayed as Augustus Waters along with co-star/onscreen lover Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster, but as her sister in the Divergent Series.
In Paper Towns the main characters are:

Nat Wolff – Quentin

Cara Delevingne – Margo

But what I didn’t know was that Ansel Elgort was in the movie as well, and judging by the gasps and excessive amounts of Oh My God, most people didn’t know either. I guess Ansel made quite the impression in TFIOS, because everybody pretty much started screaming when he cam on screen (for two minutes) and returned to normal when Nat Wolff came on screen. Yeah- we’re biased.

I thought that it was only my cinema that I went to that did this, but I talked to my friend on skype (who lives in QLD) and we were talking about Paper Towns and she said that the exact same thing happened when Ansel came onscreen. What I couldn’t imagine though is the premier for Paper Towns and probably everyone in the audience screamed when Ansel Elgort came onto screen, but let me tell you; not everyone screamed when Nat Wolff came on screen in The Fault In Our Stars.

Overall, I thought that this movie was great and hilarious, but I haven’t actually finished the book, so the ending was a bit of a surprise for me. But, after reading TFIOS, I guess John Green isn’t too into happy endings.

Mr Bean and Tooth Extraction

You may think that by the title, these things could not be any more different, but in fact they both link together perfectly for me today.

So, this Tuesday I’m getting my brackets put on my teeth before thy put my braces on Thursday. And because I have a crowded jaw, they had to remove a few teeth, and I found out that they only needed to remove one. I went to the dentist today to get a tooth removed. I thought that the needle would hurt and I found it really scary as you can tell by my post about my injections at school.
My dentist noticed after they gave me the anaesthetic that I was slightly scared by the procedure, so he put on a movie for me-

Mr. Bean to be exact.

So my dentist put on the movie and straight away I started cracking up laughing. It was the episode (or movie) when he meets the Queen and head bangs her. I tried not to laugh throughout this whole thing. I thought it was a mistake that he put on Mr Bean- I mean, he could’ve put anything on!
My dad was sitting in one of those waiting chairs in the same room and was laughing his head off, you could practically see his head on the floor- still laughing. I tried so hard not to laugh while he was putting the numbing needles in my mouth, but I shook a bit, making it hurt a bit more than necessary.

After he extracted the adult tooth, I couldn’t feel a thing as my mouth was still numb. When I smiled, only the right side of my mouth lifted up. When I drank something, one side was actually gtting something, whilst the other side let everything slip. It was amusing to people watching me, but personally, I didn’t enjoy it very much.

I hope you like this slight rant post.

Freaky Facts

I have been told by quite a few people that I have a great knowledge for weird facts. I disagreed with them at first, but then I just decided to embrace my weirdness, so here are some facts that I know off the top of my head.
(Please know that some of these are going to be false as I am not going to check if they are true. They are all coming off the top of my head.)
1.       Someone left their family photo on the moon and it is still up there today.

2.       Cigarettes contain rat poison, nail polish remover and road tar.

3.       Cockroaches can live up to 8 weeks with their head chopped off, and they are highly likely able to survive a nuclear explosion.

4.       You can float an iron cannonball in mercury because it is so dense.

5.       Miranda Sings (Colleen Ballinger) is Ariana Grande’s cousin and vocal coach.

6.       Ariana Grande always use to tie her hair up in the same hairstyle because when she was in the TV show Victorious, they made her dye her hair for 4 years straight. That resulted in damage to her hair and it would fall out, so she kept tying it in the same hairstyle to avoid more loose hair.

7.       The iPhone 6+ was dropped by the first person who bought it. It did not break though.

8.       The left side of your face is more photogenic than the right side of your face.

9.       The Coca-Cola logo use to be red and green and was also tied to the idea of Christmas. (Red and Green)

10.   Only men can become colour-blind.

Well, I hope you enjoyed all these weird, quirky facts. Just remember that probably most of these are not true and that they have come from the top of my head.
